All plans for renovation and construction of public buildings are reviewed by the Plumbing Program staff to ensure compliance with all local health regulations. These are then forwarded to the Division of Plumbing in Frankfort for approval and transmittal to other agencies having jurisdiction. Plans can be obtained 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1051 Whipple Court. Call (859) 231-9791 for additional information.

DO NOT SEND PLANS TO 1051 WHIPPLE COURT.  THIS LOCATION IS ONLY OPEN ON TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS 8-9:30 AM AND DOES NOT RECEIVE MAIL FROM USPS, FEDEX, UPS, OR ANY OTHER MAIL CARRIER. ANY MAIL SENT TO THIS ADDRESS WILL BE RETURNED TO SENDER.

Final approval on plans for any food service establishment will not be granted until a grease interceptor permit or waiver has been obtained from the Division of Water Quality, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.

As a result of the consent decree settlement with the U.S. EPA and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Lexington is stepping up its enforcement of grease interceptor requirements.  The new Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Program requires all food service and preparation facilities to submit a FOG application and be permitted for a grease trap or issued a waiver.  There is no fee. The FOG application can be downloaded here. If you have questions about the FOG Program or the application, please contact us at planreview@lfchd.org.
